ATTENTION Before beginning works at the working engine, establish the selector in the situation "P" and activate the foot parking brake.

Check of a drive of gear shifting

In positions of the R, D and S selector it is forbidden to include a starter.

In cars with the right arrangement of a steering it is authorized to include a starter in positions of the P and N selector only at not pressed button in the selector handle.

When the selector is transferred to the situation "N" at speed of movement more than 5 km/h, the electromagnet of blocking of the selector should not work and block the selector. The selector should be switched freely in provisions for movement.

When the selector is switched in the situation "N" at speed of movement less than 5 km/h (the car practically is at a stop), the electromagnet of blocking of the selector should work only later about 1 page. From the situation "N" the selector can be switched only at the pressed pedal of a brake.

The selector in the situation "P", ignition is included

Without pressing a brake pedal the selector is blocked and cannot be switched with the pressed button from the situation "P". The selector is blocked by an electromagnet.

By pressing a brake pedal the electromagnet will unblock the selector. The selector can be switched in situation for movement. Slowly switch the selector from the situation "P" in the situation "S"; thus check compliance of indication of position of the selector in a combination of devices with real position of the selector.

The selector in the situation "N", ignition is included

Without pressing a brake pedal the selector is blocked and cannot be switched with the pressed button from the situation "N". The selector is blocked by an electromagnet.

By pressing a brake pedal the electromagnet will unblock the selector. The selector can be switched in situation for movement.

Cелектор in the situation "Tiptronic"

The selector is established in situation for work in the Tiptronic mode.

The symbol of "D" on facing of a drive of switching should go out, symbols «+» should light up and «–».

Indication of a position of the selector in a combination of devices at inclusion of the Tiptronic mode should change with «P R N D of S» on «6 5 4 3 2 1».

Ignition and lighting are included

The corresponding symbol on facing of a drive of gear shifting lights up.

Indicator of position of the selector

Simultaneous fire of all segments of the indicator of position of the selector indicates malfunction of a transmission.
