The regulator of pressure of fuel supports pressure of fuel upon an invariable 4,0 bar.

Check condition
Productivity of fuel pumps should be in norm.

Procedure for test
Turn off the V.A.G 1318/201 adapter from the V.A.G 1318/20 adapter.

Turn the gate on T-shaped the V.A.G 1318/20 adapter counter-clockwise and open it completely (fig. 2.281) .
Turn off a protective cover of the air valve.

Now connect to the air valve 1 manometer of V.A.G 1318, as is shown in drawing 2.282 , V.A.G 1318/20, V.A.G adapters. 1318/201, V.A.G 1318/9 and the pumping-out VAS 5226 adaptation.
The manometer crane – an arrow – should be closed.
Get the engine and leave to idle.
Twist the gate on T-shaped the V.A.G 1318/20 adapter clockwise against the stop in the air valve.

Sharply open and close the manometer crane to let the air out from a hose to a manometer (fig. 2.283) .
Measure pressure of fuel. Preset value: about 4,0 bar.
If the preset value of pressure is not reached check productivity of fuel pumps.
If necessary replace a regulator of pressure of fuel.
If the nominal rate is reached switch off ignition.
Now check tightness and residual pressure. For this purpose track pressure drop on a manometer. After 10 mines pressure not less than 3,0 bar should remain.
When falling residual pressure below the 3rd bar check a manometer on tightness.
Check return valves of fuel pumps.
At manometer shutdown after carrying out check switch off ignition.
Open the crane on a manometer to dump pressure of fuel.
Dismantle a manometer together with adapters.
Under a junction in addition enclose rags for absorption of following fuel.
