NOTE In need of replacement of the control unit of the engine connect a diagnostic tester of VAS 5051B and execute conducted function «Motorsteuergeraet ersetzen/control unit Replacement».

Removal

Switch off ignition.

Remove leads of screen wipers.

Remove a covering of a water taking away box.

NOTE The carving of sryvny screws is covered with a carving varnish. At the expense of heating of sryvny screws by means of the hair dryer binding action of a carving varnish decreases.

ATTENTION To avoid damages owing to burning, cover wires, tips and control units near the engine control unit.

Make settings of the hair dryer 4, as is shown in drawing 2.284 .

Turn a potentiometer of adjustment of temperature 2 on the maximum heating capacity (600 °C).

Bring the two-level switch of amount of air 3 into situation 3.

ATTENTION Because of heating of sryvny screws parts of the protective case also strongly heat up. to avoid traumas, put on protective gloves.

Direct a hair dryer nozzle on sryvny the screw.

Turn on the hair dryer and warm up a screw head about 20-25 pages.

Unscrew sryvny the screw 2 pincers for a head.

Way of untwisting of the second screw the similar.

Uncover 1 the control unit (fig. 2.285) .

Shift clamps of tips 1 on the engine control unit to edges and disconnect both tips (fig. 2.286) .

Take the engine control unit.

Installation

Insert the engine control unit into a fixing frame in a water taking away box.

Connect tips to the control unit of the engine and shift clamps 1 to the middle.

Put a cover 1 on the control unit of the engine and by hand twist new sryvny screws (fig. 2.287) .

Tighten new sryvny screws evenly, before failure of heads.

Establish a covering of a water taking away box.

Establish leads of screen wipers.
