Removal of the external hinge

Remove both collars from a hinge boot.

Remove a boot from the external hinge.

Separate the external hinge from a power shaft, having strongly struck on the hinge with a plastic hammer (fig. 3.179) .

Removal of the internal hinge

Remove both collars from a hinge boot.

Remove a boot from the internal hinge.

Separate a cover from the internal hinge (fig. 3.180) .

Remove a lock ring by means of a grip for spring lock rings of VW of 161 A.

Vypressuyte the internal hinge from a power shaft, as is shown in drawing. Thus strong hold a power shaft (fig. 3.181) .

NOTE The internal hinge to disassemble for check it is impossible.

Check of the external hinge

The hinge should be assorted for replacement of konsistentny greasing at strong pollution or if it is necessary to check paths of a kacheniye of balls on wear and damage.

Removal

Before dismantling mark position of the spherical plug concerning a separator and the case by means of the electrocount or honing whetstone.

Turn the spherical plug and a separator.

In turn take balls.

Take a separator with the plug (fig. 3.182) .

Turn a plug segment to one of separator windows (fig. 3.183) .

Shake out the plug from a separator.

6 balls of each hinge belong to one group of the admission. An axis pin, the plug, a separator and balls check on existence of small deepenings (defects of a surface) and задиров. Too big lateral люфт in the hinge it is possible to notice on palpation at loading change, in such cases the hinge is subject to replacement. Existence затиров and paths of a kacheniye of balls is not the basis for hinge replacement.

Installation

Enter into the hinge case a half of total of konsistentny greasing (60 grams).

Insert a separator with the plug into the hinge case.

Pay attention to a big facet on internal diameter of the spherical plug and for big internal diameter of a separator, at installation they should be directed to a shaft.

Insert in turn opposite balls, thus it is necessary to redeem former position of the spherical plug concerning a separator and the hinge case.

Distribute the remained konsistentny greasing in a sealing cuff.
