Turn off wheel bolts.
Lift the car.
Remove forward wheels.
Remove lobbies right and left podkrylka.

If on cars pneumatic shock-absorbers are established, it is necessary disconnect an air line 1 and to let the air out (fig. 3.144) .
Then fasten connection with the inhaling moment.
Establish the spring tightening VW 552 adaptation on both parties of the car in the top opening of a wheel niche and on the top lever of a suspension bracket.
Slightly to clamp the lever, not to damage a spherical pin of the hinge of a suspension bracket.
Remove a noise isolation under an engine/transmission.
At existence – dismantle protection of the bottom under forward main transfer.
Remove the holder of a noise isolation.

Remove the screen of forward main transfer (fig. 3.39) .

To separate and fix the forward driveshaft forward the main broadcast A (fig. 3.130) .
Turn off the right and left driveshafts. In case of need – use for untwisting of bolts T10099/1 nozzle.

At existence – remove the screen A from the steering mechanism (2 bolts) (fig. 3.145) .
Unscrew a bolt In the kardanny hinge of the steering mechanism and take the hinge from the steering mechanism.

If it is necessary – remove tubes of system of cooling 1 from the left longeron. For this purpose to twist a nut and the holder (fig. 3.146) .

Insert axes 10-222 A/11 into loops of an arm of the engine on the right and left parties (fig. 3.147) .

Insert wooden whetstone A in length about 300 mm into brackets of axes 10-222 A/11 (fig. 3.148) .
Thus brackets should be directed back.
Tighten clips of axes, for this purpose wooden whetstones should lean in an arm of hinged units B.
Establish a tip of a podkatny jack in a rack for the engine and V.A.G 1383 A transmission.

Establish a rack for the engine and V.A.G 1383 A transmission under an arm of the engine and slightly press (fig. 3.149) .
Unscrew fixing bolts of an arm of hinged units

Unscrew fixing bolts of an arm of hinged units to a body.

Turn off a connecting bar at the left and on the right 1 from the stabilizer (fig. 3.151) .
Untwist carving connection of pneumatic or standard shock-absorbers below at the suspension bracket lever. Thus it is necessary lower an arm of hinged units through axes 10-222 A/11 approximately on 50 mm in the arrow direction in order that take bolts 2.
Use these bolts 2 with additional podkladny washers or bolts in M 14x1,5 length about 90 mm to fix an engine arm at the left and on the right on a body 3.
Clean a rack for the engine and V.A.G 1383 A transmission from under an engine arm.

Put a rack for the engine and V.A.G 1383 A transmission with a universal emphasis for a transmission 1359/2 under an arm of hinged units and slightly press (fig. 3.152) .
Thus put wooden laying And under an arm of hinged units and In forward main transfer.
Fix an arm of hinged units by means of a belt of a universal emphasis for V.A.G 1359/2 transmission.
Remove axes 10-222 A/11 from an arm of hinged units.

Carefully lower an arm of hinged units with forward main transfer on size A (about 200 mm) (fig. 3.154) .
Measure size A between a body and a contact surface of an arm of hinged units.

Remove connecting bolts with nuts 1–3 lobbies of the main transfer And on an arm of hinged units B (fig. 3.155) .
The assistant is necessary for removal of forward main transfer.

Remove forward main transfer 1 between an arm of hinged units and an engine/transmission down as follows (fig. 3.156) .
At first lift the left driveshaft.
Then take by means of the second mechanic forward main transfer from fastenings of an arm of hinged units.
Thus take the right driveshaft from a shaft with a flange.
Lift forward main transfer over the steering mechanism and to deduce back.
Installation of forward main transfer
Installation is carried out in return sequence, thus it is necessary to consider the following.
Always replace fixing bolts of the forward driveshaft.
The second mechanic is necessary for installation of forward main transfer to fastening of an arm of hinged units.
Establish connecting bolts with nuts 1–3 lobbies of the main transfer And on an arm of hinged units B (fig. 3.155) .
Lift an arm of hinged units with an emphasis for a transmission.
Carefully establish a ventilating tube And with a connecting nipple in forward main transfer (fig. 3.153) . Thus the nipple should stand horizontally and be between eminences on the case.
Insert axes 10-222 A/11 into loops of an arm of the engine on the right and left parties (fig. 3.147) .
Establish wooden whetstone in length about 300 mm in brackets of axes 10-222 A/11 (fig. 3.148) .
Thus brackets should be directed back.
Tighten clips of axes, for this purpose wooden whetstones should lean in an arm of hinged units B.
Clean a rack for the engine and V.A.G 1383 A transmission from under an arm of hinged units.
Establish a tip of a podkatny jack in a rack for the engine and V.A.G 1383 A transmission.
Establish a rack for the engine and V.A.G 1383 A transmission under an arm of the engine and slightly press (fig. 3.149) .
Previously unscrew the established bolts 3 at the left and on the right an engine arm (fig. 3.151) .
Establish bolts of 2 pneumatic or standard shock-absorbers below at the steering lever.
Fasten a connecting bar on the right and at the left 1 to the stabilizer.
Before fastening of an arm of hinged units check an internal profile of the plug of a rezinometallichesky support (fig. 3.150) .


Twirl stretcher fastening.
If check of corners of installation of wheels was carried out, it is necessary replace bolts.
Tighten bolts with the inhaling moment.
Remove axes 10-222 A/11 from an arm of hinged units (fig. 3.149) .
Establish the kardanny hinge in the steering mechanism and tighten a bolt In with the inhaling moment.
At existence – establish the screen A on the steering mechanism (fig. 3.145) .
At existence – establish tubes of system of cooling on the left longeron 1. For this purpose tighten a nut and the holder (fig. 3.146) .
Establish the forward driveshaft.
Establish the screen, tighten bolts with the moment of 10 N · m (fig. 3.39) .
Connect driveshafts and shaft to a flange.
Remove the tightening VW 552 adaptation.
Remove forward right and left podkrylka.
Check level of transmission oil in forward main transfer
At existence – establish protection of the bottom under forward main transfer.
Establish forward wheels.
If necessary – after installation check level of installation of corners of wheels.
