Removal
The left and right steering drafts are identical.
Their removal and installation are carried out without steering dismantle.
Turn off a forward wheel.
Squeeze out cross-section steering draft from the case of the bearing of a nave of a wheel.
Clear a drive of the amplifier of a steering outside in a boot zone.
Open a collar and shift a collar back.
Turn off steering draft by means of a wrench and an insert

Installation
Installation is carried out in return sequence, thus it is necessary to consider the following.
Tighten steering draft by means of a wrench and an insert.
Check a boot on wear (furrows, cracks), and contact surfaces of a boot – on absence of pollution.
Establish a boot and a collar.
Clamp a collar by means of a tightening grip of VAS 6199, as is shown in
drawing 5.16
.
Further installation is carried out in return sequence.
Execute base setup of the sensor of an angle of rotation of a steering wheel of G85.
Inhaling moments
The cross-section lever to the case of the wheel bearing (use a new nut) – 90 N · m.
Steering bent for to the steering mechanism – 100 N · m.
