Full drive
The full drive does not demand special service.

At a full drive all four wheels are leaders.

Transfer of a torque is constantly carried out on all four wheels. The size of a torque and its distribution on axes occurs automatically depending on specific road conditions.

Winter tires
Thanks to a full drive the car equipped with serial tires, shows rather high dynamic qualities on winter roads. And still we urgently recommend always in the winter on all four wheels to establish winter or all-weather tires as thus traffic safety essentially increases, brake qualities of the car considerably improve.

Antisliding chains
In the presence of legislative instructions about obligatory application of chains of antisliding it is necessary to establish them and on the all-wheel drive car; chains put on forward wheels.

Replacement of tires
On cars with a full drive there can not be a tire with various degree of wear. All four wheels should have identical ways of a running in, i.e. the pieces of a way passed by the tire for one turn.

The lowered step of transmission of "LOW"

The lowered step of transmission can be used also at the blocked differentials (fig. 1.123) .

The lowered step of transmission with large transfer number serves for ensuring the maximum traction effort on wheels at movement on off road terrain.

As ESP, ASR, ABS and EDS systems at the included lowered step of transmission change the action program, at movement on usual roads it is impossible to use this step.

Inclusion of the lowered step of transmission of "LOW" (at an automatic transmission)
Reduce speed below 15 km/h.
Turn the button on «LOW».
Move the selector in a position N.
Wait about one second.
Include one of movement positions (R, D or S).

Inclusion of the lowered step of transmission of "LOW" (at a mechanical transmission)
Stop the car.
Turn the button on «LOW».
Put the transmission lever in neutral situation.
Wait about one second.
Include transfer.

Switching off of the lowered step of transmission at movement
Reduce speed below 40 km/h.
Turn the button on «HIGH».
Move the selector in a position N.
Wait about one second.
Include one of advance positions (D or S).

Switching off of the lowered step of transmission at the motionless car
Turn the button on «HIGH».
Hold the car on a place by means of a brake pedal.
Move the selector in a position N.
Wait about one second.
Include one of movement positions (R, D or S).
The maximum speed from which it is possible to move at the included lowered step of "LOW", is defined by engine model. Restriction of the maximum speed lies in limits approximately from 70 to 100 km/h.
Best of all the lowered step in the following situations proves:
– when the car with the trailer moves on off road terrain;
– when the car makes the way in especially severe conditions of off road terrain;
– when overcoming especially steep slopes.
It is not necessary to include the lowered step of transmission on snow-covered roads.
Inclusion of the lowered step of transmission is carried out by button turn in the situation "LOW" – the LOW logo starts to blink. Inclusion can be late a little.
