Drive a ring from above, at right angle to a cylinder wall, to the bottom opening of the cylinder, at distance about 15 mm from its edge. For this purpose use the piston without rings (fig. 2.90) .

Before check clear a ring flute ( fig. 2.91 .).

Measure approximately in 6 mm from bottom edge, at right angle to an axis of a piston finger (fig. 2.92) .
The tolerance from the nominal size of 0,04 mm is maximum

Carry out measurements cross-wise in three places in the cross-section direction A and the longitudinal direction B (fig. 2.93) .
As much as possible tolerances from the nominal size of 0,08 mm.

NOTE
It is forbidden to measure diameters of cylinders when the block of cylinders is fixed on a clamp of the engine and VAS 6095 transmission as incorrect results are in that case possible.

Sizes of pistons and cylinders

Installation of pistons by means of T10147 funnel
Only after that it is possible to establish pistons with rings.

NOTE
When using for installation of the piston of a new funnel of T10147 at first it is necessary to carry out twice the piston with the oiled piston rings through it and if necessary to remove the appeared shaving (fig. 2.94) .

Manually push the piston into the oiled funnel of T10147. The flat party of the bottom of the piston should indicate a funnel pin (fig. 2. 95).
Holding a funnel (with the piston inserted into it) for the upper edge, push the piston inside, having pressed on it thumbs of both hands.
Push the piston so that he acted over bottom edge of a funnel approximately on 15 mm.

Put the piston in the corresponding cylinder. The funnel pin (fig. 2.95) should be turned to the middle of the block of cylinders.
Put a funnel on the block of cylinders and push the piston inside.
